Keeping It Simple

Another post on keeping  Christmas simple. I got my gift in the mail from Dave...Yep I ordered it for myself but isn't that how we get what we want? LOL. It's a sweet little candle lantern to fit in antique wood bowl . I placed it in middle of the bowl and filled it with all the wonderful fillers which include, dried orange slices, pine cones and spruce berries. It truly looks like an old fashion Christmas. Simple and sweet and I knew I would love it. The table is an antique find I got a few months back when I was out junking and the rug underneath I hooked from a primitive star pattern at The Old Tattered Flag website but you can't see it. Thanks for checking in and I hope you are enjoying the simple  gifts of Christmas too.
Merry Christmas.

Christmas Simple

Hi blog friends. How are the preparations coming? One of my favorite things to do is to keep a record of my December daily routine and at the end of the holiday make a December daily album. Last year was my first year doing this and when it was finished I had something I would cherish forever. It just made the season more meaningful and the preparations worth the effort. After all, it's really about the birth of our Christ and how the story impacts us in our everyday witness through his love. So with that said.. I have a few pictures of events we have been a part of to share that will go in my book. I will for sure share  the completion when January gets here and when I need a project share. I keep daily, dated envelopes  to record my day and believe me sometimes it's a challenge.
Blessings to you and may I just say.... DO TRY THIS. You will love this project.
Merry Christmas my friends.

FEELING THANKFUL

Hope everyone is enjoying the aftermath of Thanksgiving and all those leftovers. I completed the Christmas card I am sending this year and have to say it was fun . This is the first year in a while I won't be sending handmade cards...well maybe to a few but it seems with little Will in our life now it seems appropriate to send pictures. So, I just want to take time out to wish everyone a blessed Holiday Season. Stay warm and healthy my friends. Here's a preview of our family highlights this year. We started out with some rough times but ended it with a bang.
Blessings to all and thanks for checking in.

Great Date Night with My Eldest

It was a gloomy, cold and rainy night and I had just put the logs on the fire to stay home with a pot of lentil soup cooking on the stove. It was the perfect night except hubs was at the hospital with my FIL to get him checked out for a bad cough and cold. I was in with the dogs for the night which I was fine with but I then received a call from my eldest son Kyle asking if I would like to have dinner. Are you kidding me? I jumped at it. We talked about going dutch at an upscale restaurant but when I mentioned the fire and  soup on the stove he suggested a bottle of wine and a night in with mom. I was so excited. For those of you with boys you know what I'm talking about. This doesn't happen often. So here are some pictures I took of our evening. We even took in a cheesy chic flick movie on HBO. What a guy. It was the perfect evening so had to share.I can't tell you how much I love this kid.
Thanks as always for checking in. See, I'm even blogging again.

Loving The Raisin Boat Challenge

Hi everyone and thanks for checking in on today's card challenge over at Raisin Boat.

This months theme is red, white and blue which is always a favorite of mine. I used a gate fold card for my base and adhered a wonderful patriotic image along with a embellishment from K & Company. A sweet bow was attached to give it some spirit. I kept it simple inside with a Spellbinders die cut  for my sentiment from the Stunning Silhouettes set from Raisin Boat. They have the coolest stamp rental program so check them out. Papers are a mixture of Do Crafts Christmas in the  Country and K & Company.
Thanks for stopping in and leave a comment if you please. We're off to the South of France so won't be back for a while but isn't that normal for me? Life just keeps me hopping.
Have a great summer.
